FSUMC's Ministries ***********
Peace Vigil, Mondays 12pm. Volunteers gather on the front steps to pray for peace for a half hour every Monday. Newcomers are welcome.
Choir rehearses Thursday nights at 7:15pm in the sanctuary. Ring the bell at 425 College Street to enter. The Choir sings at the 10am worship every other Sunday. Please contact Bob Girard to volunteer with the Choir.
Youth Group, a fellowship group for teens, ages 13 to 18, gathers for spiritual growth, community service, and fun.
Yale United Methodist Fellowship, for the university community, gathers for conversation, meals, and service opportunities in New Haven and beyond. Contact fsmethodist@sbcglobal.net to get involved.
Young Adult Fellowship, for young adults ages 18 to 35, gathers once a month for meals and activities.
United Methodist Men, a fellowship group for men of all ages, for spiritual growth and community service. The men gather for a monthly Saturday breakfast.
Women's Forum, a fellowship group for women of all ages, for community service and spiritual growth. An annual retreat day is held in September.
Stitch & Pray Group is a fellowship group that gathers to knit and crochet prayer shawls.
Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, First Tuesdays, 5:30pm—6:45pm. Help serve a good meal to our neighbors, at 311 Temple Street, lower level. DESK is on summer break in June-July. FSUMC's next day to volunteer is August 2nd.
Food Pantry donations are received every Sunday, 10am. Place dry goods in the wooden basket next to the Sanctuary door. Donations are delivered to local food pantries for distribution.
Sengbe Pieh Community Service Awards are held every year, in honor of Sengbe Pieh, leader of the Amistad revolt, to recognize individuals who are active in service to the greater New Haven community.
Reconciling Ministries & Methodists In New Directions are ministries of the United Methodist Church and the New York Annual Conference advocating for the full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the Church. Check them out at www.mindny.org and www.rmnetwork.org.
