About Pastor Ed
We are delighted to announce the appointment of our interim pastor, Rev. Ed Horne, who will serve First & Summerfield October 1 through the end of June 2023. Pastor Ed is a retired pastor with 44 years of experience in pastoral ministry living with his wife and pastoral psychotherapist, Rev. Sara Goold, in Guilford. A Yale Divinity School graduate (1978), Pastor Ed has served six local churches including St. Paul & St. Andrew UMC in New York City and Westport-Weston UMC in Connecticut. Pastor Ed is a long-time leader and advocate for social justice, having served as Co-Chair of the NYAC Board of Church and Society and currently serving as the Coordinator for the NYAC chapter of the Methodist Federation for Social Action. He also has a long list of experience leading in the UMC at the district, annual conference, and jurisdictional levels. We are delighted to welcome Pastor Ed and Rev. Sara to our church!
